NIKE EXPLORE TEAM
INNOVATOR / STORYTELLER
Nike Innovation - Digital Product Creation
Collaborating with Nike's designers, athlete researchers, and business leaders, I investigated the impact of new technology on Nike's design, engineering, and manufacturing processes.
With a primary focus on mixed reality, I partnered with creative technologists to develop immersive experiences aimed at revolutionizing collaboration among Nike innovators and business leaders.
These experiences facilitated intuitive and engaging interactions, enabling teams to present apparel and footwear concepts alongside athlete data. We fostered deeper collaboration, streamlined development, and ways to deliver superior products to consumers.
Role: Sr Creative Technologist
Role: Innovation Storyteller, Director
Within Nike Innovation, I utilized my skills as a filmmaker, motion designer and writer to accelerate and scale our mission - to deliver inspiration and innovation to every athlete in the world.
Case Study: Innovation Launch
Innovation is about new ideas. The best ideas are sometimes so radical, it can be hard to understand the value a new innovation offers Nike’s consumer and the business.
Problem:
Innovation Launch presents an opportunity for Nike Innovation to showcase its work to leaders across the enterprise. I worked with innovators and strategy leaders to conceptualize the best way to present new platforms simply, in a bold and compelling way, to showcase the clear benefits to the business.
Once the strategy was in place, I would bring the vision to life through videos, graphics, animations and photographs. I collaborated with premier motion designers, filmmakers and agency partners as well as creating visuals as an individual contributor.
This work successfully transitioned products like Nike Alphafly NXT%, Nike Forward, Nike Flyknit Bra, DRI FIT-ADV, Tokyo 2020 T&F kits, Lunar Alpha Women’s football boot, Nike HyperAdapt and others to the market.

Case Study: Nike Forward
In 2017, Nike Apparel Innovators were working on a new technique for making a textile, one that could radically reduce the waste created during manufacturing. They wanted to scale and accelerate this approach, but all they had was a textile swatch to tell their story. I crafted an animation conveying a sustainable future where Nike creates performance apparel with less impact on the environment.
Problem:
The mission of this project was to convey a leap in textile sustainability, and we agreed to create an animation inspired by Nike’s Better World campaign. I crafted a script that outlined the vision laid out by Apparel Innovation.
Results:
With the support of Innovation leadership, the team moved with speed to quickly bring their vision to life. Once a sample was in hand, I helped document the process and benefit of the product with photography and 3D renderings as we transitioned this new textile to the business.

Case Study: Nike Flyknit, Knit Bra, Olympics T&F
Why is knit so special? How can we make this better? These were some of the questions I helped answer as Flyknit evolved from a zero-waste footwear upper, to a new method for designing and engineering performance apparel.
Problem:
As with so many innovations, it begins with an idea. What if we take what we’ve learned about making a footwear upper, and applied it to apparel? The idea for a bra was born. From animated content to film documentation, my work helped explain the what, why and how around the birth of the Knit Bra.
Results:
As the journey continued, Nike’s Knit Engineers created a system to build bold color shifting lenticular structures into the knit. This became the catalyst for what would become the Olympics Track and Field uniforms for team USA. I helped guide the journey as Nike Apparel shared their vision and sold it to Olympic athletes.

Case Study: Visual Insights
How might visual insights inform and influence the way we design? What role does data play in how we make products for the consumer?
Problem:
I crafted several videos that explored new forms of visual insights to drive more informed product creation. Over time, this work became central to Nike designers and engeneers when determining how to design and manufacture better performance product.
